Privacy policy
- Rozzy has no accounts. You don't sign up, and we don't have a server that stores your budget.
- Everything you enter stays on your phone.
- If you turn on backup, a copy goes to a hidden folder in your own Google Drive. It goes straight from your phone to Google; we never receive it.
- We don't show ads, we don't sell data, and the app has no analytics or tracking.
Who we are
Rozzy is made by Steadyfast, Nanded, Maharashtra, India ("we", "us"). For anything about privacy, write to [email protected].
Information stored on your phone
To work out your daily budget, Rozzy stores what you enter, in the app's private storage on your phone:
- Money for each month (salary or opening money) and deductions such as rent or EMIs
- Expenses and money received: amount, date, category and any note you add
- Savings goals and the money you move into them
- In Business mode, people who owe you money: the name, phone number, amount, due date and note you enter
- Settings such as your name, currency, pay day, reminder times, UPI ID or payment details, and business name
This information never leaves your phone unless you turn on Google Drive backup, export a file, or send a reminder message yourself (all described below). We don't have access to it.
Google Drive backup (optional)
Backup is off until you turn it on in Settings. When you do, you choose a Google account and Google asks you to allow two permissions:
| Google permission | What Rozzy does with it |
|---|---|
drive.appdataSee, create and delete its own configuration data in your Google Drive | Saves one file, rozzy-backup.json.gz, in Rozzy's hidden app folder in your Drive, reads it back when you restore, and deletes it when you ask. Rozzy can't see or open any other file in your Drive. |
emailYour email address | Shows you which Google account your backup is in, so you restore from the right one. |
The backup file contains the information listed above (your budget data and settings). Rozzy uploads it about once a day and shortly after you make changes. It travels directly between your phone and Google over an encrypted connection. It is never sent to us, and we can't read it. Google stores it under Google's privacy policy.
Limited Use. Rozzy's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use this information only to back up and restore your Rozzy data. We don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it, we don't transfer it to anyone, and no person at Steadyfast reads it.
You can turn backup off at any time in Settings, and remove Rozzy's access in your Google Account under Third-party apps & services.
Contacts
When you add someone to To collect, you can pick them from your contacts. Android shows its own contact picker and gives Rozzy only the one contact you pick, which fills in the name and phone number. Rozzy doesn't read or upload your address book.
Payment reminders and payment links
When you tap Send reminder, Rozzy opens WhatsApp (or your share menu) with a message ready for you to send. Rozzy doesn't send anything itself; you choose whether to send it. Once sent, the message is handled by WhatsApp or the app you chose, under their policies.
If your currency is INR and you've added your UPI ID, the message includes a link to getrozzy.com/pay/. Your UPI ID, name, the amount and the note are inside the link itself. The page reads them from the link in your customer's browser to open their UPI app. It doesn't store anything, and we've set our server not to log visits to payment links. Payments go directly from your customer's UPI app to your UPI ID; we never receive or handle the money.
Purchases
Rozzy Premium is sold through Google Play. Google handles payment and billing details under its own terms and privacy policy. The app only receives from Google Play whether you have an active subscription, so it can unlock Premium features. We don't receive your card or bank details.
Notifications, app lock and widgets
- Notifications are created on your phone from your own data. Nothing is sent through a server.
- App lock uses Android's own fingerprint, face or screen lock check. Rozzy only learns whether you passed; it never receives your fingerprint, face data or PIN.
- Widgets show your daily budget on your home screen. Anyone who can see your home screen can see them, so remove the widget if that matters to you.
Exporting your data
Premium lets you export your entries as a CSV file. You choose where to save it. After that, the file is under your control and is no longer protected by Rozzy.
Analytics, ads and tracking
The app has no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no advertising ID. If we ever add crash reporting to fix bugs, we'll update this policy first and ask for your permission in the app.
This website doesn't use cookies or analytics. Pages load the Manrope font from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to download it. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser) for up to 30 days for security and to fix problems. These logs aren't used for anything else.
Who we share data with
Nobody. We don't hold your Rozzy data, so there is nothing for us to share or sell. The only other companies involved are the ones you choose to use: Google (Drive backup, Play purchases), and WhatsApp or another app when you send a reminder.
Security
Your data is stored in Rozzy's private app storage, which other apps can't read. Backups travel to Google over HTTPS and are stored in an app folder only Rozzy can access. For extra protection, turn on App lock in Settings and keep a screen lock on your phone.
Deleting your data
Because your data lives on your phone and in your own Google Drive, you can delete it yourself at any time:
- Everything on this phone: Settings → Reset Rozzy, or uninstall the app.
- Your Google Drive backup: Settings → Delete backup from Google Drive. Or, without the app: open Google Drive settings on a computer → Manage apps → Rozzy → Options → Delete hidden app data.
- Rozzy's access to your Google account: remove it in your Google Account under Third-party apps & services.
If you write to us, we keep your email only as long as needed to reply, and delete it on request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and US state laws such as California's CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data. Rozzy gives you these directly: you can see, edit, export and delete everything in the app. If you have a question or complaint about how your data is handled, contact us at [email protected]. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
What we process, and why (GDPR)
The only personal data we ourselves process is the email you send us, to reply to you (our legitimate interest in answering you), and website access logs, to keep the site secure and working (legitimate interest). Your budget data is processed only on your device and in your Google Drive, under your control. We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
Children
Rozzy is meant for adults managing their own money. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Rozzy handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. For significant changes, we'll also tell you in the app.
